ti-review-content\"><!-- R-CONTENT -->We hired Max Larocque Construction to rebuild a gutted bathroom, as well as a section of our living room (wall and hardwood floor). They were repairing water damage in both rooms. Some of the work was done by other contractors because it involved services they do not offer. Because of the other contractors, the whole project ended up taking 2 years (May 2024 to May 2026). Despite the delay, which was in no way their fault, they honoured the prices in the original contract.&#010;&#010;Here is what we appreciated most about them:&#010;&#010;- Detailed contract created by a lawyer that protected both us and them.&#010;&#010;- Detailed list of the work to be done including description of materials.&#010;&#010;- Complete construction plans.&#010;&#010;- Price per job rather than itemized for hours and material. When things took longer or required extra material because of unforeseen complications, there was no increase to the bill. They only charged extra when we asked for add-ons.&#010;&#010;- Communication was prompt and thorough. We were advised of any minor delays and they answered all our questions immediately. There were no major delays from them.&#010;&#010;- Workers showed up when they were supposed to. If there was a slight delay (e.g. stuck in traffic), they called us. This was very different from the other contractors who cost me a week of missed work by scheduling, not showing up, and not calling to let me know they weren't coming.&#010;&#010;- Excellent quality work that followed building code.&#010;&#010;- Couretous, professional crews who were a pleasure to have in our home.&#010;&#010;Yes, they are more expensive than some other contractors, but you get what you pay for. We ended up spending way more than the original estimates with the other contractors we worked with because we had to have things redone and we were never sure the work was good enough. It was an expansion, taking down the back wall, adding a large room, with installation of a new kitchen. The work was very well done, the construction manager and workers were friendly and easy to talk to, and very professional. I had a lot of questions, and they were always happy to explain. All in all, it was a very good experience. Je les ai re-contact\u00e9 r\u00e9cemment et c'est encore la m\u00eame \u00e9quipe, donc mon commentaire devrait \u00eatre encore pertinent.  Voici comment j'ai \u00e9valu\u00e9 leur performance il y a 2 ans:&#010;Qualit\u00e9 des travaux: 5 \u00e9toiles&#010;Courtoisie avec la client\u00e8le: 5 \u00e9toiles&#010;Gestion de projet: 3 \u00e9toiles.  Si il y avait une place \u00e0 am\u00e9lioration, ce serait dans ce cr\u00e9neau. They were repairing water damage in both rooms. Some of the work was done by other contractors because it involved services they do not offer. Because of the other contractors, the whole project ended up taking 2 years (May 2024 to May 2026). Despite the delay, which was in no way their fault, they honoured the prices in the original contract.&#010;&#010;Here is what we appreciated most about them:&#010;&#010;- Detailed contract created by a lawyer that protected both us and them.&#010;&#010;- Detailed list of the work to be done including description of materials.&#010;&#010;- Complete construction plans.&#010;&#010;- Price per job rather than itemized for hours and material. When things took longer or required extra material because of unforeseen complications, there was no increase to the bill. They only charged extra when we asked for add-ons.&#010;&#010;- Communication was prompt and thorough. We were advised of any minor delays and they answered all our questions immediately. There were no major delays from them.&#010;&#010;- Workers showed up when they were supposed to. If there was a slight delay (e.g. stuck in traffic), they called us. This was very different from the other contractors who cost me a week of missed work by scheduling, not showing up, and not calling to let me know they weren't coming.&#010;&#010;- Excellent quality work that followed building code.&#010;&#010;- Couretous, professional crews who were a pleasure to have in our home.&#010;&#010;Yes, they are more expensive than some other contractors, but you get what you pay for. We ended up spending way more than the original estimates with the other contractors we worked with because we had to have things redone and we were never sure the work was good enough. It was an expansion, taking down the back wall, adding a large room, with installation of a new kitchen. The work was very well done, the construction manager and workers were friendly and easy to talk to, and very professional. I had a lot of questions, and they were always happy to explain. All in all, it was a very good experience.
