It was big enough, but its “U” shape limited its use. By opening up the kitchen to the living space, she solved both problems, and our technical team took the opportunity to make its own recommendations.

A central storage island

The demolition of the partition between the kitchen and dining room has made the space much larger, airier and brighter. The whole area is now part of a single living space, making it more convivial for family and guests alike.

To maximize storage, the central island has no lunch counter. Its proximity to the dining room table makes it easy to use for both everyday meals and entertaining friends.

As the ceiling was a cathedral ceiling from the 60s, and as these are prone to condensation problems, our technical team suggested a high-performance insulation method to make everything safe and durable. After three months’ work, the owners now breathe in an open, airy and bright family environment. They’re delighted, and so are we.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”49723,49721,49719,49717,49715,49713,49707,49705,49703,49701,49699″ fullwidth=”on” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” link_option_url=”https://www.maxconstruction.qc.ca/renovation-de-cuisine/” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_gallery][et_pb_social_media_follow _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″][et_pb_social_media_follow_network social_network=”facebook” background_color=”#3b5998″ _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” follow_button=”off” url_new_window=”on” url=”https://www.facebook.com/ConstructionsMaxLarocque/” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]facebook[/et_pb_social_media_follow_network][et_pb_social_media_follow_network social_network=”instagram” background_color=”#ea2c59″ _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” follow_button=”off” url_new_window=”on” url=”https://www.instagram.com/constructionsmaxlarocque/” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]instagram[/et_pb_social_media_follow_network][/et_pb_social_media_follow][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

For the owners of this 1960s single-family home, the living space was too compartmentalized, and the kitchen needed modifications to improve efficiency and appearance.
